Jan 18, 2024read time: 4 minutes
Here's a quick and dirty list of the ways you can use ChatGPT to make your marketing better, faster, and easier.
(Oh, and I know they work because I use them myself. π)
1. Dig deeper into your target buyer's pain points
A deep understanding of our customer's pain points helps us better serve them.
There's nothing that gets around actually talking with our customers, however, ChatGPT can help you sift through vast amounts of data to give you a clearer picture of what troubles your customers.
PROMPT: "Research, analyze market trends, and synthesize the biggest pain points for [your specific target audience]. Please cite any links you used in researching."

2. Segment your target audience
ChatGPT can help you break down your audience into smaller groups. This lets you tailor your message to speak directly to each customer's heart and needs.
PROMPT: "Describe ideal customer profiles for [your product/service] based on common characteristics and interests."
3. Stay up to date with trends
Every industry is changing like crazy town right now. It's tough to stay ahead of trends and best practices.
When you don't have hours to spend in the latest news, ChatGPT can help.
PROMPT: "Summarize the latest trends in [your industry] based on recent articles and reports. Please include the links."
Share these findings with your team and also on social media with additional commentary.
4. Research your top 10 competition
Understand your competition's strategy from an unbiased point of view.
PROMPT: "Analyze and compare the marketing strategies of the top 10 competitors in [your industry, be specific], focusing on their digital presence, campaign themes, and customer engagement tactics."
5. Refresh old blog content
Let ChatGPT take a stab at updating or sprucing up old content to keep it relevant. Then edit it to fit your brand voice with some human elements.
PROMPT: "Suggest updates for this blog post published on [date]. Incorporate recent data and trends [paste in blog post]."
6. Repurpose existing content
Turn one piece of content into many. Always edit for brand voice and our human-ness. π
PROMPT: "Provide ideas for repurposing the following into different formats for [add social channels, email, or other marketing channels here]. [Insert content to repurpose]"
7. Make landing pages that convert
Make your website work hard for you. Get better engagement and conversion (the action you want visitors to take) on your landing pages.
PROMPT: "Evaluate this landing page and suggest improvements for user engagement and conversion [link]."
8. Build a social media plan
Overwhelmed with what to post? Frustrated that your activity on social media isn't leading to higher impressions and engagements? Ask for help.
PROMPT: "Create a month-long social media content plan for [your brand] on [social media channel], focusing on key themes and engagement strategies. Please review my website here for background: [website]."
9. Create LinkedIn carousels or Twitter/X threads
Everybody loves a carousel or Twitter/X thread. They typically get higher engagement, but are more work to create. Try this.
PROMPT: "Create a [LinkedIn carousel or Twitter/X thread] with the title [insert engaging hook title here]."
10. Find leaders and influencers in your industry
Collaboration and partnerships are powerful ways to grow. Get help discovering key influencers or leaders.
PROMPT: "[Insert background context about your business and how you're wanting to grow]. Please list influential leaders and potential collaborators in [your industry, be specific]."
11. Build project timelines or calendars for planning
Organize your campaigns and projects. ChatGPT can help you lay out a detailed schedule and track important milestones and deadlines.
PROMPT: "Create a detailed project timeline for [specific marketing campaign or project name]. Include key tasks, milestones, deadlines, and any relevant team member responsibilities. [Provide an overview of the campaign objectives and target audience for context]."
12. Summarize a piece of content
Quickly grasp the essence of a lengthy article or report with concise summaries.
PROMPT: "Summarize the following article/report, highlighting the main points and takeaways [link to the content]."
13. Research new tools
Stay ahead by knowing the best tools on the market. Yes, poke around in G2 and Capterra, but let ChatGPT help you assess and compare.
PROMPT: "Compare the top 5 [type of marketing tools] for [specific function], outlining their pros and cons."
14. Write case studies
Interview your client about their experience with you. Grab the transcript from Rev or similar service (Teams actually provides this now). Figure out 3 metrics of improvement that client experienced from working with you.
PROMPT: "My company is [name] and this is our website [link]. Here is a transcript from a recent client interview with [client name] and 3 metrics of improvement they've experienced from working with our company [metrics and explain each]. Draft a compelling case study highlighting our work with them focusing on the objectives, strategies implemented, and results achieved."
Just make sure to structure your client interview questions to get at the meaty problem, solution, and results.
15. Write better email subject lines
You gotta stand out in a crowded inbox. Let ChatGPT spark some ideas for you. If you're sending to a larger list, send as different tests to see which performs better.
PROMPT: "[Explain the general campaign/theme of the email.] Generate 10 creative and engaging email subject lines for this email [insert email]."
Takeaway
You don't have to start from a blank screen anymore.
Use ChatGPT and your own human awesomeness to save time and reach the right audience with the right message.
