We’ve built clarity and depth. Now, let’s make it actionable.

Over the past two weeks, we’ve covered four simple frameworks to help you get better results from ChatGPT:

R-T-F (Role, Task, Format) → To get clear, expert-level responses.
T-A-G (Task, Action, Goal) → To structure your requests with clarity and focus.
B-A-B (Before, After, Bridge) → To generate step-by-step plans for meaningful transformations.
C-A-R-E (Context, Action, Result, Example) → To ground answers in real-world context for more useful insights.

You can review part 1 here or part 2 here.

I've heard from many of you who tried these frameworks and immediately noticed the difference. I also got a few nuggets of wisdom I'll share in the future!

Today, we’re closing out this series with 2 final frameworks that help you get ChatGPT to deliver clear, step-by-step strategies that create a learning loop and improve the quality of your results over time.

Let's do it.

Framework 5: R-I-S-E (Role, Input, Steps, Expectation)

What it does:
This framework helps ChatGPT deliver structured, step-by-step plans based on specific roles, inputs, and expectations.

Instead of a high-level overview, you get detailed instructions and action steps you can execute immediately.

How to use it:
"Imagine you are a [ROLE]. Based on [INPUT—RELEVANT BACKGROUND OR DATA], outline a step-by-step plan that achieves [EXPECTATION]."

Why it works:
ChatGPT often provides generic answers because it lacks context and doesn’t know how success should look. This framework fixes that by giving it:

  1. A role to adopt.
  2. Relevant inputs to consider.
  3. A clear step-by-step structure.
  4. A defined expectation for the outcome.

Best for:
- Creating detailed processes
- Structuring long-term strategies
- Building repeatable workflows
- Developing instructional guides

Example:

Pro tip:
If you want even more precision, add constraints. For example, instead of just saying "Outline a 3-month content plan," try "Outline a 3-month content plan using only LinkedIn, focusing on organic engagement, with a weekly posting schedule." As you know by now, the more details you provide, the better the result.

Framework 6: L-A-S-T (Learn, Apply, Share, Tweak)

What it does:
This framework turns ChatGPT into a continuous learning engine, helping you learn, implement, and improve over time.

It moves beyond one-off interactions and helps ChatGPT evolve alongside your business needs.

How to use it:
"I want to [LEARN] about [TOPIC]. Apply it to [SPECIFIC SITUATION]. Share key insights in a [FORMAT]. Then suggest tweaks for improvement."

Why it works:
ChatGPT is often used for static, one-off tasks, but it will adapt and improve when you apply what you've learned and tweak the approach.

L-A-S-T helps you:

  • Learn something new.
  • Apply it immediately to your situation.
  • Get a summary of actionable insights.
  • Identify improvements for next time.

Best for:
- Learning new skills
- Improving processes
- Testing content ideas

Example:

Pro tip:
Don't skip the "Tweak" step. That’s where ChatGPT helps you spot patterns and improvement opportunities.

Takeaway

That’s a wrap on the 3-part ChatGPT framework series!

Here's a quick recap of the 6 frameworks you've learned:

  1. R-T-F: Role, Task, Format → For clear, structured prompts.
  2. T-A-G: Task, Action, Goal → For clarity and direction.
  3. B-A-B: Before, After, Bridge → For step-by-step plans.
  4. C-A-R-E: Context, Action, Result, Example → For real-world, practical answers.
  5. R-I-S-E: Role, Input, Steps, Expectation → For detailed, actionable strategies.
  6. L-A-S-T: Learn, Apply, Share, Tweak → For continuous learning and improvement.

Now it's time to apply them. Have a new project that just landed on your lap? No worries.

  • Uses R-I-S-E to help you create that detailed plan
  • Then use L-A-S-T to learn from the experience for even better results next time.

And let me know how it goes, what worked or didn't, what surprised you, and what you put into action.
